Why Bat Proofing Is Different
Bats are federally protected under the Endangered Species Act — which means you cannot kill them or trap them inside your home. The only legal approach is exclusion: allowing bats to leave naturally, then sealing the entry points.
Timing matters critically. Bats cannot be excluded during maternity season (typically May through mid-August) when flightless pups are present. We assess your situation and determine the right window for exclusion.
Our 5-Step Process
Inspection
Identify primary and secondary entry points — including less obvious gaps around dormers, ridge caps, and fascia.
One-Way Device Installation
Exclusion devices installed at active entry points. Secondary gaps sealed immediately.
Verification
We monitor to confirm all bats have exited. Typically 1–2 weeks.
Permanent Sealing
Devices removed; all entry points permanently sealed with appropriate materials.
Follow-Up
We return to verify the seals are holding and the colony has not relocated to a secondary entry point.
